I have been a mental health professional treating families, adolescents, individual adults, couples, and groups since 2003. I have worked in residential treatment facilities, community mental health settings (including home-based and school-visiting programs) and outpatient clinics. I spent two years at the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group Clinic and Training Center, studying and practicing Control Mastery therapy.

I currently serve as a member of the Board of Directors at the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group.

I have experience with diverse clientele and welcome individuals from all racial and ethnic backgrounds. I also have experience with and welcome gay and lesbian clients, in both individual psychotherapy and in couples counseling.

Before becoming a social worker I worked as a collegiate-level athletic coach and an outdoor educator. As a coach and educator I worked closely with individuals and groups to establish goals and work towards achieving them while overcoming challenges along the way. I developed programs that improved participants’ self-awareness and strengthened their emotional resilience in the face of those challenges.

I am currently collecting hours towards becoming a licensed clinical social worker in the state of California. This means that I am able to practice therapy under the supervision of (or consultation with) my employer and supervisor, John Bogardus LCSW. See John’s website here: www.johnbogardus.com

Additional Training:

Ongoing education and training are important to me. I am involved in regular professional consultation and I maintain my educational requirements by participating in continued professional training every year.
